Sweet and Sour Meatballs

- Meatballs: shopping list
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef shopping list
- 1/3 c rolled oats shopping list
- 8 oz can water chestnuts, drained & chopped shopping list
- 1/2 c milk shopping list
- 1 tbs soy sauce shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1/2 tsp onion salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt shopping list
- 1 Tbs shortening shopping list
- Sweet and Sour Sauce: shopping list
- 8 oz can Crushed Pinapple shopping list
- 1 c packed brown sugar shopping list
- 3 Tbs corn Starch shopping list
- 1 c beef bouillon shopping list
- 1/2 c vinegar shopping list
- 2 Tbs soy sauce shopping list
- 1 1/3 c chopped green pepper shopping list
How to make it
- In Medium bowl, combine all meatball ingredients
- Shape into small balls, using about 1 Tbs of mixture for each
- In Large skillet, brown meatballs in small amount of shortening, turning meatballs freguently to brown all sides
- Drain skillet well
- Drain pineapple, reserving juice
- In Medium sauce pan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch
- Stir in pineapple juice, bouillon, vinegar and soy sauce
- Heat to boiling, stirring constantly until thick and clear
- Boil 1 minute than stir in pineapple and green pepper
- Add sauce to meatballs in skillet; simmer 10 minutes
- Serve Hot!!
- Makes 4 dozen
