Sweet And Sour Meatballs Recipe
If your looking for something sweet and sour, this is a great dish. The meatballs have a great texture and the sauce is not to sweet and not to sour. Enjoy!!

Ingredients
  • Meatballs:
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/3 c Rolled oats
  • 8 oz can Water Chestnuts, drained & chopped
  • 1/2 c Milk
  • 1 tbs Soy Sauce
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 tsp onion salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 Tbs shortening
  • Sweet and Sour Sauce:
  • 8 oz can Crushed Pinapple
  • 1 c packed Brown Sugar
  • 3 Tbs Corn Starch
  • 1 c Beef Bouillon
  • 1/2 c Vinegar
  • 2 Tbs Soy Sauce
  • 1 1/3 c chopped Green Pepper

Directions
  1. In Medium bowl, combine all meatball ingredients
  2. Shape into small balls, using about 1 Tbs of mixture for each
  3. In Large skillet, brown meatballs in small amount of shortening, turning meatballs freguently to brown all sides
  4. Drain skillet well
  5. Drain pineapple, reserving juice
  6. In Medium sauce pan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch
  7. Stir in pineapple juice, bouillon, vinegar and soy sauce
  8. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly until thick and clear
  9. Boil 1 minute than stir in pineapple and green pepper
  10. Add sauce to meatballs in skillet; simmer 10 minutes
  11. Serve Hot!!
  12. Makes 4 dozen
