How to make it

  • combine water, sugar, ginger; boil 5 minutes.
  • Add pear; simmer 3 minutes
  • Add cranberries and continue cooking sauce, without stirring, until the cranberries pop open.
  • Cool the sauce.
  • Just before serving, stir in lemon juice, rind and cognac.
  • Serve in relish dish to accompany turkey.
