Spicy Cranberry Sauce

- 1 cup water shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp ginger shopping list
- 1 hard pear, peeled and diced shopping list
- 2 cups cranberries shopping list
- 1 lemon (grated plus the juice) shopping list
- 1/4 cup cognac shopping list
How to make it
- combine water, sugar, ginger; boil 5 minutes.
- Add pear; simmer 3 minutes
- Add cranberries and continue cooking sauce, without stirring, until the cranberries pop open.
- Cool the sauce.
- Just before serving, stir in lemon juice, rind and cognac.
- Serve in relish dish to accompany turkey.
