This is a traditional "good luck" dish eaten on New Year's Day in the Southern United States. It blends rice and black eye peas to make a hearty side dish.

Yup. This is it. Every ****ing new year's day. Black-eyes peas and cabbage(or greens). My husband used to say, still, no luck and no money. Love this stuff. TY.

Gotta have black eye peas for New Years and turnip greens. Guess supposed to have collards but I just don't care for them.
