How to make it

  • In a saucepan on medium, cook bacon or Kielbasa until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • 2. Stir in onion, pepper and celery and cook for 5 minutes until onion is tender.
  • 3. Stir in the blackeye peas, sazon, hot sauce, salt and pepper, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and simmer, uncovered for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally. Serve over rice.

    Gotta have black eye peas for New Years and turnip greens. Guess supposed to have collards but I just don't care for them.

    I make this almost the same way except I use cooked Ham cubed.

    Yup. This is it. Every ****ing new year's day. Black-eyes peas and cabbage(or greens). My husband used to say, still, no luck and no money. Love this stuff. TY.
