Honey Cake Recipe
This is an extremely light and tasty cake. I have been making this cake for years and it never gets old. Hope you enjoy it is much as we do.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg well beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups flour sifted
  • 1/2 cup sour milk
  • Frosting:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons warm milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon warm honey

Directions
  1. Using a fork cream butter in mixing bowl then stir in honey and beaten egg.
  2. Sift together in separate bowl the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  3. Add this alternately with sour milk to mixture in first bowl.
  4. Blend everything thoroughly then butter a shallow baking pan.
  5. Pour cake mixture into pan and bake at 350 for 50 minutes.
  6. When done remove from pan and allow cooling.
  7. Blend powdered sugar, warm milk, melted butter and warm honey in a mixing bowl.
  8. Spread over entire cake when it has completely cooled.
