How to make it

  • Put the apples, pears, dried fruit, and honey in a saucepan and put on the lowest possible heat.
  • Sprinkle over the mixed spice and after a short time once the honey has melted give the saucepan a quick shake to mix the ingredients. Lay the orange peel on top, then put a lid on the saucepan and leave to cook for 10 minutes until the fruit has softened. Take the lid off half way through cooking process.
  • mix the cream ( I sometimes whip up the cream) or creme fraiche with the icing sugar and a splash of brandy to your taste -according to how sweet or boozy you like it!
  • Remove the orange peel and serve the hot fruit with the brandy cream. Enjoy!
