Pollys Shrimp Stew Recipe
This dish is an original from my own kitchen. It is great served on rice, pasta or potatoes. It is a tasty, filling treat that your family will love and think you spent all day in the kitchen to prepare.

Ingredients
  • Liquids:
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 cups water
  • Fresh Veggies:
  • 3 large onions coarsely chopped
  • 1 1/2 bell pepper coarsely chopped
  • 2 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 3 sprigs of celery coarsely chopped
  • Canned foods:
  • 2 med. cans chopped tomatoes
  • 2 med. cans sliced mushrooms
  • 1 small can tomato paste mixed with
  • 1 can beef stock
  • Seafood:
  • 4 lbs Shrimp (Or any combination of seafood)
  • Dry Seasoning:
  • Basil, onion & garlic powder, salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp sugar (optional)

Directions
  1. Saute' fresh veggies in oil until translucent.
  2. In large stock pot heat all canned foods.
  3. Transfer sauted veggies into stock pot.
  4. Saute seafood in same pan fresh veggies were saute'ed in, until just done.
  5. Transfer to stock pot.
  6. Add dry seasoning.
  7. Add water.
  8. Bring to boil, reduce heat to medium, cover and simmer for 1 hour.
  9. This is great over rice, pasta, or potatoes boiled or mashed
  10. Also great made with a shrimp, crab, and crawfish combo.

Good stuff! Love it. Very similar to one I do, but I use shrimp stock instead of beef. Gotta put it over rice. And sop up that sauce.


What a delicious sounding stew! Just bookmarking it now to make at a later date.
