This cookie bar is not overly sweet and one that is requested every year.. It's a nice addition to your holiday cookie tray. I got this recipe from a Land o' Lakes Cookie pamphlet.

Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup chopped dates
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 2 eggs
- 1 teasp. baking powder
- 1/2 teasp. salt
- 1/2 teasp. cardamon
- 2 teasp. vanilla
Directions
- Combine all the ingredients and mix by hand until well blended
- spread into a greased 9'' square pan
- bake near the center of the oven.
- 350' for 22-27 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean
- cool completely. cut into bars.
- ( I toss the bars into confectioners sugar totally covering them)
