Pollys Chorizo Pie

- 1 Deep dish pie crust shopping list
- 1 pie crust top( rolled kind) shopping list
- 6 - 6 inch links of Chorizo,removed from casing, crumbled and fried in 1 inch peices shopping list
- 3 cup pasta sauce from jar or homemade shopping list
- 1 lg onion chopped shopping list
- 2 tps chopped garlic shopping list
- 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese shopping list
- 1 tbsp chilli powder shopping list
- salt & pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Fry Chorizo in skillet as listed above
- Remove and drain on papertowels
- Saute chopped onion and garlic in grease from sausage
- Add sausage and sauce to sauted onion mixture
- Add chillie powder, salt and pepper
- In Pie shell layer sausage/sauce mixture, then cheese making 2 layers of each
- Add top crust, make 4 slits in crust.
- Bake at 375 for about 30 minutes
- When pie shell is cooked and cheese is seeping out of the slits, the pie is done
- Cool for 15 minutes, cut and enjoy.
- This is also great over pasta instead of in a pie shell
- I have also added mushrooms, chopped tomatoes, or sliced eggplant
- Let your imagination go wild.
