Old recipe my mother used to make every year for Christmas cookie exchanges. Always a favorite every time I make them all year 'round!

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Butter or Margarine, softened
  • 1 3/4 cup Flour
  • 1/2 cup Confectioner's Sugar
  • 2 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Pecans, finely chopped

Directions
  1. Cream butter, confectioner’s sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  2. Stir in pecans.
  3. Gradually stir in flour until well blended.
  4. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour or until firm enough to handle.
  5. Divide dough in 8 equal pieces.
  6. On lightly floured board, roll each in ½ inch wide ropes.
  7. Cut in 1 3/4 inch lengths; taper ends, then shape in crescents.
  8. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  9. Bake in pre-heated 300 degree oven 18 – 22 minutes or until light golden and firm to touch.
  10. While warm, roll in granulated sugar.
