How to make it

  • Put all meatball ingredients in a mixing bowl and - using your hands - mix together, kneading until all ingredients are thoroughly combined
  • break off pieces of the meat mixture and rolled into balls - should make 10 - 12 balls.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly!
  • Heat olive oil in a frying pan/skillet and add the meatballs turning them until they are browned on all sides.
  • Meanwhile start the sauce - heat oil in a saucepan and add onions and garlic, saute for a couple of minutes.
  • Add all other sauce ingredients and bring to the boil.
  • Now pour some of the sauce onto the meatballs in the frying pan (to pick up all the juices) then return the lot to the saucepan.
  • Cover and simmer for around 40 mins until the sauce has thickened to your liking.
