Grandmothers Taco Salad Recipe

This was one of the most popular recipes my Grandmother ever made. It was requested many times and always a favorite at family dinners and potlucks.

Ingredients
- 1/2 medium onion
- 2 large tomatoes, diced
- 10 oz Longhorn Cheese, grated
- 1 can chili beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 head of lettuce, cut in bite sized pieces
- 1 bottle of Catalina Salad dressing
- 1 bag of Fritos Corn chips
Directions
- Layer the above ingredients
- Place in refrigerator for 1 hour.
- When ready to serve, crush 1 bag of Frito's Corn chips and toss into salad with bottle of Catalina dressing.
- At the time my Grandmother made this regularly, the bag of chips cost 59 cents. This shows just how long this recipe has been around.

Hee Hee! Longhorn cheese is a cheddar cheese sold in chunk form. Must be a Kansas thing.
