Tomato Soup Cake

- 1/2 Cup butter or shortening shopping list
- 1 Cup sugar shopping list
- 1 C tomato soup shopping list
- 1 tsp soda, dissolved in soup shopping list
- 2 Cups flour shopping list
- 2 tsp powder shopping list
- 1 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1 tsp nutmeg shopping list
- 1/2 tsp cloves shopping list
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) shopping list
- 1 cup raisins, rehydrated and drained shopping list
How to make it
- Directions given as:
- Bake in either tube or loaf pan in moderate oven 50 to 60 minutes.
- For beginners that means:
- Cream butter and sugar
- add sifted dry ingredients alternately with soup/soda mixture
- Stir in dry nuts and raisins
- Bake at 350 in a prepared 9x13 pan for 30 to 40 minutes
- ( I never used a loaf or tube pan)
- Frost with cream cheeses frosting
- It also says it's supposed to set one day before cutting.........that never happened either!
