Tomato Soup Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 Cup butter or shortening

1 Cup sugar

1 C Tomato soup

1 tsp soda, dissolved in soup

2 Cups flour

2 tsp powder

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp nutmeg

1/2 tsp cloves

1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

1 cup raisins, rehydrated and drained

Directions

Directions given as:

Bake in either tube or loaf pan in moderate oven 50 to 60 minutes.

For beginners that means:

Cream butter and sugar

add sifted dry ingredients alternately with soup/soda mixture

Stir in dry nuts and raisins

Bake at 350 in a prepared 9x13 pan for 30 to 40 minutes

( I never used a loaf or tube pan)

Frost with cream cheeses frosting

It also says it's supposed to set one day before cutting.........that never happened either!
