Ingredients

12 ounces jellied orange candy slices

1 1/2 cups flour

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2/3 cup shortening

2/3 cup brown sugar

2/3 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 cups quick oats

1 cup coconut

Directions

Cut orange slices into small pieces. sift together flour, powder, soda and salt. Cream together shorteing and sugars. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in sifted ingredients. add oats, coconut and orange pieces and mix well. shape into balls using a tablespoon of dough. Place on a greased cookie sheet and flatten slightly. Bake 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
