Andouille In A Security Blanket Recipe
Great appetizer. So good, so quick. Serve at room temperature or warm with a honey mustard sauce. Can serve whole, add a side or two for a meal.

Ingredients
  • 6 links (six to eight-inch) of andouille sausage
  • 6 sheets of puffed pastry (six to eight inches wide) thawed
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions
  1. Carefully roll each link of sausage into thawed sheet of puffed pastry
  2. Then pinch together ends of pastry so that sausage is completely encased
  3. Place on baking sheet or sheet pan that has been covered in parchment paper
  4. In bowl, whisk together egg and water to make thin egg wash
  5. Brush wash onto outside of each puffed pastry cylinder
  6. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes, or until golden brown
  7. Allow the sausage/pastry to cool, then cut into one inch slices and arrange on large platter
  8. Serve at room temperature or warm with honey mustard sauce
