- 2 teaspoons olive oil shopping list
- 2 small red onions, thinly sliced ( about 1 1/2 cups) shopping list
- 1 tablespoon water shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed hot red pepper flakes shopping list
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce shopping list
- 1 package (16oz) frozen French bread dough, thawed shopping list
- 1 medium green bell pepper, cut into thin strips (about 1 cup) shopping list
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms shopping list
- 1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 425.F
- Spray a 12 inch pizza pan with vegetable cooking spray. Set aside.
- In a large nonstick skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add onions, water, thyme, and hot pepper flakes. Cover; cook for 4 minutes. Uncover; saute until onions are tender but not brown, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in tomato sauce and cook, stirring, until slightly thickened, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll dough out to a 10-inch circle. Fit onto prepared pan. Spread sauce over dough. Top with bell pepper, mushrooms, and then mozzarella cheese.
- Bake until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden, about 20 to 25 minutes.
