Swiss Steak Recipe

Swiss Steak Recipe
This is so easy it's ridiculous. The small amount of flour in this recipe in which the steak is battered in helps thicken up this sauce which is so delicious.

Ingredients
  • 6 pieces of cubed steak
  • EVOO
  • Flour
  • 1 large onion peeled and sliced thinly
  • 2- 15 oz cans of tomato sauce
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1 tsp of basil
  • 1 tsp of Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper

Directions
  1. Dredge cubed steak with flour. No egg wash is necessary because the flour adheres to the steak.
  2. In a large skillet heat up about 5 tbsp of EVOO.
  3. Cook cubed steak on medium heat until the outside is brown.
  4. Add in onions and garlic and saute until they are translucent.
  5. Add in tomato sauce and other spices.
  6. Turn heat back to medium/low and allow to simmer for around an hour.

Sounds good, great post.

I haven't made swiss steak in a very long time but it was one of the first things I made when I was first cooking. Great post!

This is very similar to the one I used to make. I lost my recipe so I haven't made it in a long time! Thanks for the post!
