Applesauce Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup lard

2 cups sugar

2 cups thick applesauce (homemade is even yummier)

3 cups flour

2 eggs

2 tsp soda

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp cloves

1 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp salt

Optional (but highly recommended):

1 cup raisins

1 cup chopped walnuts

Chocolate icing

Directions

Mix all together

Bake in slow oven 350 degrees for 1 hour

These are the only instructions my mother gave me! She always uses her angelfood cake pan-therefore so do I.
