Pumpkin Nut Bread

- 1 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/3 cup shortening shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 cup canned pumpkin shopping list
- 1/4 cup milk shopping list
- 2 cups sifted flour shopping list
- 2 teasp. baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 teasp. salt shopping list
- 1/4 teasp. baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 teasp. ginger shopping list
- 1/4 teasp. cloves shopping list
- 1/2 cup broken walnuts shopping list
- optional: 1/2 cup raisins shopping list
How to make it
- cream together brown sugar and shortening until light and fluffy.
- add eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition
- stir in pumpkin and milk . mix until well blended
- in separate bowl mix flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, ginger, and cloves
- stir into the pumpkin mixture.
- beat one min. with an electric mixer
- mix in walnuts and optional raisins
- pour into a greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan
- bake at 350'F for appox 55 mins or until done
- remove from pan cool on a rack
- serve with butter or cream cheese
