Creamy Bread Sauce

- 600ml (1 pint) milk shopping list
- 12 tbsp fresh white breadcrumbs shopping list
- 1 small onion shopping list
- nutmeg shopping list
- 25g (1oz) butter shopping list
- 3 tbsp Cream shopping list
- salt and white pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Place the milk in a saucepan and bring to the boil.
- Add onion, nutmeg and the butter.
- Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Remove the onion and discard.
- Pour the milk over the breadcrumbs and return to the heat stirring until the sauce thickens, adding the cream.
- Serve.
