How to make it

  • Cook rice as directed on box
  • In skillet saute' onion in butter
  • Blend in flour, salt and pepper
  • Gradually stir in half and half and chicken broth
  • Cook mixture until thickened
  • In large bowl, add the rice, the cooked sauce, chicken, and pimiento
  • Pour into a 9 X 13 casserole dish OR a 2 quart dish of choice
  • Sprinkle with slivered almonds
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes at 375 degrees
