Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a large soup pot sauté onion and celery in butter, and cook down until veggies are soft, and start to look slightly clear.
  • Stir in flour and cook 2 minutes.
  • Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste (optional), and seasonings.
  • GRADUALLY add liquids, stirring constantly. Let come to a boil, then turn heat down to simmer. Let simmer for 20 minutes or until warmed through.
  • Add shrimp and stir. Allow to cook an addition 2-5 minutes until warmed through.

I have to give you a serious shoutout. I had some left over crawfish tail meat (1 lb) and wanted to make a bisque. I looked all around the web and some were too churched up and some were not even bisque. Then I happened upon yours. My basic thought is I ll make it per the directions (as best I can without going to the store) and then church it up. I ll tell you the only things I changed were smoked paprika, chicken base, Hunts Fire Roasted Tomatos, slap ya mamma and crawfish tail meat. I have been getting rave reviews at work. This is a keeper. Sorry to have modified it so much even though it isnt that much. But this is really great. You came up with a really good one. I even registered on this site just to tell you that. --Steve

This sounds really very good. Have you come up with other bisque recipes?
