Chicken in Savory Tomato Sauce

- 6 skinless chicken breasts-chopped into bite size pieces shopping list
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 pinch of black pepper shopping list
- 3 Tbs butter shopping list
- 1 14.5oz can of stewed tomatoes with liquid shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 2 Tbs brown sugar shopping list
- 2 Tbs distilled white vinegar shopping list
- 2 Tbs worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 2 tsp chili powder shopping list
- 1 tsp mustard poweder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp clery seed shopping list
- 1clove garlic minced shopping list
- 1/8 tsp hot pepper sauce shopping list
How to make it
- In shallow dish or bowl, combine flour, 1/2 tsp salt and pepper. Coat bite sized pieces of chicken with flour.
- Melt butter in large skillet (I like to use and electric skillet) brown your chicken on all sides--remove and drain, set aside.
- In same skillet, combine tomatoes, water, brown sugar, vinegar and worcestershire sauce. Season with the salt, chili poweder, mustard powder, celery seed, garlic and hot pepper sauce. Bring to a boil and reduce heat.
- Return chicken to skillet-cover and simmer for about 35-40 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink.
- We love this chicken with spaghetti and french bread with salad on the side....
