How to make it

  • In large saucepan over medium heat combine water, milk, salt, pepper and 2 tablespoons butter.
  • Bring liquid to a gentle boil then stir in grits.
  • Cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Remove pan from heat and stir in remaining butter and cheese.

    I love grits, I make mine using Jack cheese at times only I cut the recipe in half now that the kids are grown and have their own families... just can't beat grits!! yummmmmm
