Texas Habanera Peach Glazed Ham Recipe
Another recipe from my regional collection. I have made this on occasion and it is very good. It's spicy but we love spicy food in the South. Enjoy.

Ingredients
  • 7 pound smoked fully cooked ham half
  • 20 whole cloves
  • 10 ounce jar habanera peach preserves
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 325.
  2. Remove skin from ham then score fat on ham in a diamond design then stud with cloves.
  3. Combine preserves, lemon juice, cinnamon and cloves in saucepan.
  4. Bring to a boil over medium heat stirring occasionally then set aside.
  5. Place ham fat side up on a rack in a shallow roasting pan.
  6. Insert meat thermometer making sure it does not touch fat or bone.
  7. Bake uncovered for 2 hours.
  8. Baste every 20 minutes with sauce.
