How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat a 9x13 baking pan with non-stick spray.
  • Whisk the flour, baking powder and salt together in a large bowl. Set aside.
  • In a second bowl, mix together the melted butter, egg and maple flavouring; add the sugar and stir well.
  • Make a well in the dry ingredients and add the wet ingredients to the dry all at once. Stir until just combined.
  • Spread half the batter in the pan and sprinkle over half the berries. Spread the remaining batter over the berries and sprinkle the remaining berries evenly over the top.
  • Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • While cake is baking, prepare the glaze by mixing together the glaze ingredients until smooth.
  • Cool the cake a little after it's done baking, then drizzle the glaze over the top.
