German Potato Salad

- 6 modestly-proportioned potatoes shopping list
- 4 strips bacon, minced, shopping list
- bacon drippings from the bacon shopping list
- ¼ - ½ cup chopped onion shopping list
- ¼ - ½ cup chopped celery shopping list
- 1 chopped dill pickle shopping list
- ¼ c water or stock shopping list
- ½ cup apple vinegar shopping list
- ½ t sugar shopping list
- ½ t salt shopping list
- paprika – pinch (optional) shopping list
- Dry mustard– pinch (optional shopping list
How to make it
- Peel the potatoes, cut into bite-sized pieces, and cooked in water or stock until JUST done.
- Cook the bacon, set aside. Cook the onions and celery in the bacon drippings. Remove from heat and add the chopped pickle
- Heat the remaining ingredients just to boiling, and combine with all ingredients.
- Serve warm with good crusty bread, bratwurst, and dark beer.
