Southwest Turkey Burgers

- Salsa: shopping list
- 1/4 cup corn shopping list
- 12 cherry tomatoes, seeded and chopped shopping list
- 1 tbsp. fresh lime juice shopping list
- 1 garlic clove, minced shopping list
- 1 tbsp. green onion, chopped shopping list
- 1 tsp. olive oil shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- Burgers: shopping list
- 1 1/2 lbs. lean ground turkey shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped shopping list
- 1 tbsp. fresh thyme, chopped shopping list
- 2 tbsp. fresh cilantro, chopped shopping list
- 1/2 small red bell pepper, seeded and finely chopped shopping list
- 1 small jalepeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped shopping list
- 2 tsp. ground cumin shopping list
- 1 to 2 tsp. louisiana hot sauce shopping list
- 2 tsp. seasoning blend (Such as McCormick Montreal steak seasoning) shopping list
- olive oil cooking spray shopping list
- 6 deli-style buns shopping list
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced shopping list
- 1 small avocado, thinly sliced shopping list
How to make it
- In a medium bowl, combine all salsa ingredients. Cover and place in the refrigerator until ready to use.
- In a large bowl, combine turkey, garlic, chopped red onion, thyme, cilantro, bell pepper, jalapeno pepper, cumin, hot sauce and seasoning blend; mix well.
- Divide mixture into 6 equal mounds and form into patties; spray patties with olive oil to coat.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook burgers for 6 to 8 minutes on each side or until cooked through.
- Place cooked burgers on buns and serve topped with salsa, sliced red onion and sliced avocado.
