Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 1/2 cups (28 oz. can) tomato puree
  • 1 cup water
  • 2/3 cup (6 oz. can) tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
  • 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 pkg. (16 oz.) spaghetti, uncooked
  • Meatballs:
  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1/3 cup flavored bread crumbs
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

Directions
  1. Prepare meatballs
  2. Brown meatballs in oil in large skillet
  3. Pour off excess fat
  4. Add onion and garlic
  5. Saute 2-3 minutes
  6. Add tomato puree, water, tomato paste, salt, oregano, basil and pepper
  7. Simmer 15-20 minutes
  8. Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain
  9. Serve with sauce and meatballs
