Baked Ribs And Kraut

- 14 lb spare ribs shopping list
- 1 1/3 t salt shopping list
- 144 oz sauerkraut shopping list
- 5 1/3 cup granny smith apples diced shopping list
- 2 cup onion diced shopping list
- 1 1/3 t pepper; for sauerkraut shopping list
- 1 1/3 t pepper for ribs shopping list
How to make it
- Cut spare ribs into 2 or 3 ribs each
- Place in a large covered roasting pan and sprinkle with salt and pepper
- Roast in hot oven (450 F for about 1 1/2 hrs. turning occasionally until brown.
- Reduce heat for 1 hr. uncovered (350 F)
- Remove from oven and pour off fat, (you can reserve enough to make gravy)
- Add sauerkraut, apple,pepper and onions, (this mixture can be made during the time ribs are baking)
- Cover and return to oven (350 F) for about another 1 1/2 hrs. or until ribs are tender and meat falls off the ribs
- We serve this with mashed potatoes.

Love ribs and kraut, this sounds very good. Great post. I'm assuming you meant teaspoons for the pepper, am I right?
