How to make it

  • In a large frying pan, saute the beef in olive oil until brown. Transfer beef to a large pot.
  • Saute onion, cubanelle pepper, jalapeno and garlic till soft. Place in pot with beef.
  • Saute ground pork until thoroughly cooked, drain and add to the pot.
  • Add all other ingredients. Bring to a boil, then turn heat down and simmer on VERY LOW for 3-4 hours.
  • Serve as is with saltines or over rice, top with fresh chopped onions, grated cheese, and/or sour cream
