Ingredients
  • 4 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, quartered, & thinly sliced
  • 2 TBSP Splenda Brown Sugar
  • 1-1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3 phyllo sheets
  • 1 TBSP butter
  • 1/2 c fresh Berries (choice of Raspberries, blue berries or Strawberries)
  • 1 TBSP Honey
  • 2 tsp Kirschwasser (Cherry brandy)
  • 2 TBSP white wine
  • 1 TBSP Confectioners Sugar (optional)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Combine the applies, brown sugar, cinnamon, & nutmeg in a baking dish
  3. Bake until fruit is tender, about 15 to 20 mins.
  4. Remove from oven and allow mixture to cool
  5. Increase oven temp to 450
  6. Lay the 3 sheets of phyllo in a stack on a large non stick baking sheet
  7. Mound the fruit mixture in a row running along 1 of the short sides of the phyllo, leaving about 1-1/2 inches empty around the apples on the sides
  8. Roll the phyllo and filling over onto itself to form a strudel roll
  9. Place the roll seam side on the baking sheet
  10. Brush the top of the strudel with butter
  11. Score the strudel with sharp knife to the 6 portions
  12. Bake to a golden brown, about 10-15 mins
  13. Allow to cool for 10 mins, then cut into portions
  14. To make the berry sauce, combine the berries, honey, brandy, & white wine in a blender
  15. Puree til smooth
  16. Push through a fine sieve to remove the seeds
  17. Drizzle 6 plates using 1/3 cup of berry sauce
  18. Top with pieces of strudel
  19. Dust with sifting of the confectioners sugar if desired.
  20. Serve and enjoy!!!!!
