How to make it

  • 1) Chop onions
  • 2) Rinse and drain canned sliced lotus root
  • 3) Sauté, preferably in a wok, in 3 T. peanut or canola oil until the onions are soft. Remove
  • 4) Slice ½ lb flank steak. Mix with 1T soy sauce, 1 t sugar and 1 t salt.
  • 5) Sauté in wok with an additional 1 T oil and red pepper flakes for about a minute until the meat is just browned
  • 6) Add the onions and lotus root and sauté an additional 3 minutes
