How to make it

  • Mix cold water and corn meal. Stir into boiling water and salt.
  • Cook stirring, until it boils, cover and cook over boiling water in double boiler 30 minutes OR uncovered over very low heat.
  • Pack into greased loaf pan. Cover with plastic wrap and chill over night or several hours until firm.
  • Slice and brown in a skillet.
  • /
  • serve with syrup.
