Broccoli With Garlic Recipe
A vegan friend passed on this recipe. It's really good as is, but I occasionally add a protein too. Serve with steamed rice.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 med heads of broccoli, chopped to bite size pieces
  • 1 head of garlic, minced
  • 1 vegetable stock cube
  • 1/8 to 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tsp powdered ginger
  • 1 tsp of red pepper flakes (or more if you like)
  • 4 tbl sugar
  • 2 tbl cornstarch

Directions
  1. In a small sauce pan, bring water to a boil.
  2. Add vegetable stock cube, stir until dissolved.
  3. Add garlic, soy sauce, ginger, red pepper flakes and sugar.
  4. Dissolve cornstarch in 2 tbl of cold water.
  5. In a large skillet, cook broccoli over high heat for 2 min.
  6. Add garlic mixture.
  7. Simmer over med high heat for 7-10 minutes.
  8. Add cornstarch mixture and stir
  9. Cook for 1-2 min until the sauce thickens (add mor cornstarch in cold water to make the sauce thicker if necessary)
  10. Serve over steamed rice.
