I can't remember where this recipe came from. The original recipe called for 2 tbs of onion , but that just wasn't enough so I increased it.l My hubby & I LOVE onion

Ingredients
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 TBS butter
  • 3 TBS flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 8 slices American cheese ripped into small pieces
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 1 1/2 Cups water
  • 1 (10 oz) pkg frozen chopped broccoli

Directions
  1. In a large pan cook onion in butter until tender.
  2. Stir in flour, salt & pepper until well blended.
  3. Add milk & cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
  4. Add cheese & stir until melted.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. In a separate pan dissolve bouillon in water and bring to a boil.
  7. Add broccoli & cook until done. DO NOT DRAIN!!
  8. Add broccoli & broth to other mixture.
  9. Stir til blended and heat until desired temp.
