Christmas Wreaths Recipe

Christmas Wreaths Recipe
My favorite Christmas cookie of all time. These cookies are buttery, toasty, chewy, crispy, and sweet. The cinnamon candies are the icing on the cake. Kids adore them.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 30 marshmallows (10 miniatures per 1 regular)
  • 1/4 tsp green food coloring
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 1/2 c corn flakes
  • cinnamon imperials candy (a.k.a. red hots)

Directions
  1. Melt butter and marshmallows in a large pot, stirring often to prevent burning.
  2. Fold in food coloring, vanilla, and corn flakes.
  3. While still warm, drop approximately 1/4 c of mixture per cookie, onto greased wax paper and form into wreaths (I use a greased chopstick).
  4. Trim with cinnamon candies immediately.
  5. Since this mixture cools quickly, inhibiting shaping and the adherence of candies, it is helpful to have a helper during this process.
