- 3 pods black cardamom shopping list
- 2 cinnamon stick shopping list
- 3 medium red onion shopping list
- 1 (3 1/2) pound chicken, or 6 chicken breasts.Or lamb meat. shopping list
- 1 teaspoon dried cilantro shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 cups long grain white rice (Basmati) shopping list
- 100g butter shopping list
- 3 cups milk shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)
- Place the chicken, cardamom pods, cinnamon, and the whole three red onion into a large oven plate
- Fill with enough water to cover the chicken
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat;
- Boil for 20 minutes or till the chicken is cooked.
- . Reserve 4 cups of the resulting chicken stock in a large saucepan.
- Remove the chicken and onion from the oven and place in a roasting pan.
- Season the chicken with the dried cilantro, black pepper, and salt; cover with aluminum foil.
- Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then remove the foil and continue baking until the chicken becomes golden brown.
- Meanwhile, pour the rice in with the reserved chicken stock add another cinnamon stick and cardamom to add more flavor to the rice.
- Bring the rice to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally.Boil until the rice is tender and stir gently.
- When rice become sticky, add the milk to the rice then add butter on the top
- Once it reaches a boil, cover the saucepan and reduce the heat to low,
- Simmer covered for 15 minutes.
- ; cook uncovered until no liquid remains.
- Serve the rice topped with the chicken and onion
