Tamarind Butter Shrimp Skewers

- 1 lb. shrimps with heads on shopping list
- bamboo skewers soaked in water for at least an hour to prevent from burning shopping list
- 1/4 cup tamarind concentrate (you can buy this at any asian grocery store) shopping list
- 2 tbsp. water shopping list
- 3 tbsp. butter shopping list
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce shopping list
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar shopping list
- 1 tbsp. honey shopping list
- 2-3 cloves minced garlic shopping list
- black pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 350 degrees
- clean the shrimps and peel only the body shells leaving the head and tail attached
- skewers the shrimps (3-4 shrimps per skewer) and put aside
- in a sauce pan, put tamarind concentrate, water, butter, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic and black pepper and let it cook down for about 5 min. or thickens slightly. turn off heat and put aside
- put the skewer shrimps on a rack and baste/brush the shrimps with the tamarind sauce on both side
- grill in oven for about 5 min. on each side.
- continue to baste the shrimps while flipping them on each side until shrimps are cooked
- do not over cook the shrimps!
