Turkey Kielbasa With Cabbage And Sweet Potatoes Recipe
A great combination of flavors! Use regular Kielbasa if you like.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb cooked, smoked turkey kielbasa or Polish sausage, cut into 6 pieces
  • 2 medium dark orange sweet potatoes, peeled, cut into small chunks
  • 1/2 head of green cabbage, cut into 6 wedges
  • 1/2 red bell pepper; cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 tsp marjoram
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp coarse black pepper
  • 1/2 C ready to serve chicken broth, low sodium or water

Directions
  1. Place sausage pieces in a 12 inch skillet or Dutch oven
  2. Arrange sweet potatoes, cabbage and bell pepper around sausage
  3. Sprinkle with marjoram, salt and pepper
  4. Add broth to skillet
  5. Bring to a boil
  6. Reduce heat to medium low; cover and cook 15 to 20 minutes or until vegetable are tender, stirring occasionally

Delicious, although I altered this recipe somewhat to take advantage of what I had on hand.
I used red cabbage rather that green cabbage and added 2 medium sized cooking onions at the very beginning. I used water rather than chicken stock.
I never add salt to any of my cooking but I added a generous portion of freshly ground red/black pepper and a dash of hot sauce.
Highly recommended...thanks for the great lunch! I rate this a 4!


Perhaps a few less alterations and this recipe could have gotten a better score!
