Easy Roasted Crockpot Chicken Recipe
I think this recipe would be perfect for beginner cooks because it is so easy, yet so yummy.

Ingredients
  • 4 balls of aluminum foil
  • 1 whole chicken ~ thawed
  • 1 lemon ~ sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic ~ sliced
  • 1 teaspoon of poultry seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic salt

Directions
  1. Rinse chicken off under cold water, leaving the gizzards in the cavity if desired.
  2. Make 4 balls of aluminum foil about the size of baseballs and put on the bottom of your crockpot.
  3. Run your finger under the breast skin to seperate the skin from the meat.
  4. Slide 2 slices of lemon and a couple slices of garlic under each breast side under the skin.
  5. Place remaining lemon and garlic in the chicken cavity.
  6. Place chicken on top of the balls of foil.
  7. Sprinkle the chicken with poultry seasoning and garlic salt.
  8. Turn crock pot on low and cook 6 to 8 hours.

Hi Cathy - does the chicken brown at all in the crock pot?


Well the chicken doesn`t really brown because it`s cooked in the c/p, and the skin doesn`t get any kind of crisp. But I have even put a chicken in the c/p frozen solid and by dinner time it`s fall apart tender.
