PEACHY SPARERIBS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Sparks Estate in Allen, Texas in 1984.

Ingredients
  • 3 pounds spareribs quartered
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large can peach halves in heavy syrup
  • 1 cup catsup
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup minced fresh onion
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon black pepper

Directions
  1. Arrange ribs in a shallow roasting pan meaty side up then sprinkle with 1 teaspoon salt.
  2. Drain peaches saving the syrup.
  3. Blend syrup with catsup, Worcestershire, onion, flour, mustard, cloves, salt and pepper.
  4. Heat to boiling then pour over ribs and bake at 375 for 1-1/2 hours.
  5. Baste often turning after 1 hour.
  6. Place peaches cut side down around the ribs then bake 10 more minutes basting with sauce.
