Ingredients

How to make it

  • Fry 6 slices of bacon in skillet.
  • Remove bacon, cut into several pieces and set aside.
  • In 1 T. of the bacon fat, saute diced onion and sliced franks until browned.
  • Add all remaining ingredients and bacon.
  • Simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Adjust seasonings and serve.

    When I cook this I use a good quality polish or other sausage, and I double the dry mustard and the wine and ignore the 1/8 tsp Tabasco and just give the bottle a few good shakes. The dish rewarms well the next day.
