    I made this recipie and it was really good just a little thin the first 2 days, then it tasted horrible. I think the problem was the egg, I will try using egg beaters instead next time (saw that on other sites). I used white wine vinegar (distilled white would be too harsh). I also added 1tsp garlic powder in addition to the fresh garlic, and I didn't have romano cheese at the time so I used 3T parmesean (kraft type not hard that you grate fresh). Also I will try to heat the water and add the pectin to it first to see if it gets a little thicker this time. If you'll eat it all the first day it was amazing, I'm hoping with modifications it will be as good, but last longer!

    Wow, it's frustrating when people comment who haven't actually made the recipe, because what you want comments for, on a site like this, is to get real feedback on the recipe. I DID try this salad dressing recipe, since I LOVE the Olive Garden salad, and it was pretty darn close. Not exactly, but the closest I've tasted. When I first made it, it seemed too tart, but when I tossed it with the salad, it was almost exactly the Olive Garden!

    I think the recipe is right on. Howeveer, from my test, the dressing is very liquid after 4 days in the fridge. From my experience making jelly, I believe pectin does not dissolve well at room temp. I took my thin mix and microwaved it for 2 minutes to dissolve it and after cooling, it is spot on! My 2 cents

    I have compared the ingredients of 5 Olive Garden salad dressing recipes and have found them all to be very similar. The proportions are all just a little different. To perfect this recipe, I only need to determine the proportions so it will pour after chilling. So far, using xanthan gum, the recipe makes a dressing that is too thick after chilling. Other than that, it is absolutely just like Olive Garden---and don't forget the red pepper flakes.

    I made this today. I do not think it tastes like the Olive Garden Dressing I have purchased by the bottle. This is a bit tart, which I don't mind, but It's not quite there yet!!

    I usually dont care much for dressings such as this, but Olive Garden really does have a great dressing. I'd love to try this in the future, thanks so much for sharing
