How to make it

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
  • Place pie crust into a 9 inch pie plate
  • In a large bowl; beat the sweet potato or pumpkin, milk, egg yolks, sugar, syrup, butter and spice on medium speed
  • In a clean medium-size bowl; beat the egg whites until stiff, but not dry
  • Fold egg whites into the mixture
  • Pour into the crust
  • Bake for 40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean
  • Cool on a rack for 1 hour before serving
