Berries For Beginners Recipe
I keep this in the refrigerator almost non-stop in the summer, and most of the winter, too!

Ingredients
  • 1 bag frozen raspberries
  • 1/2 bag frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 bag frozen strawberries (cut into bite-sized pieces of necessary)
  • 1/2 bag frozen blackberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • If available, substitute half of each frozen berry amount with a pint of fresh berries.

Directions
  1. Wash any fresh berries, and place in a bowl.
  2. Pour the frozen berries on top.
  3. Sprinkle with the sugar; this step is needed as the sugar draws out the juices.
  4. Stir to combine.
  5. Allow to thaw as needed.
  6. Spoon over shortcakes, angel food cake, ice cream, or eat as is.

Sounds good. I wish I had some berries and I'd try it now. Oh, yeah, chores to do!

Natasha, I make this all of the time. It's wonderful and easy. My kids usually eat it all before I can serve it over shortcakes. They also eat the Cool Whip before I put the dessert together. Thanks for the post!
