Asparagus Almandine

- 2 cans asparagus*, drained, reserving 1/2 cup asparagus liguid shopping list
- 1 can Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (may omit) shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese shopping list
- 1 cup bread crumbs (I make my own) shopping list
- 1/2 stick unsalted butter, melted shopping list
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds shopping list
- *I prefer the spears, because they lay nicely in the casserole shopping list
How to make it
- Layer asparagus in an oblong casserole dish
- In bowl, combine soup, asparagus liquid, salt and pepper
- Pour this mixture over asparagus
- Sprinkle with grated cheese
- In small bowl, mix the bread crumbs with the melted butter, toss
- Sprinkle the bread crumbs over the cheese
- Dot with the almonds
- Bake in a *300* degree oven for 45 minutes
- VERY NICE FOR EASTER, GOES WELL WITH HAM
