Karens Pasta Bolognese Bake Recipe
This is a easier version of Lasagne, perfect with home made garlic bread.

Ingredients
  • 200g pasta (quills or shells or any shape you like)
  • 2oz butter (melted)
  • 500g minced beef
  • 2 onions (chopped finely)
  • 3 cloves of garlic (I prefer chopped rather than pressed!)
  • 100g mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 tin of chopped tomatos
  • 1 tablespoon of oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato puree
  • 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon of Mrs Balls Chutney (or any nice runny chutney)
  • 400g white sauce
  • 100g grated cheese

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 180 degress C. 350 F.
  2. Cook pasta and then toss it in the melted butter and line the bottom of you oven proof dish.
  3. Fry onions and garlic in a thick based saucepan, until browned.
  4. Add in the beef and fry until browned. Add in the mushrooms and fry for a further 5 minutes.
  5. Add in chopped tomatos, oregano, salt, pepper, tomato puree, vinegar, maple syrup and chutney and cook for a further 10 minutes.
  6. Put the meat mixture on top of the pasta.
  7. Pour the white sauce evenly on top and then sprinkle the grated cheese.
  8. Bake in oven for 40 minutes until the cheese is browned. Enjoy!!!
