Karens Pasta Bolognese Bake

- 200g pasta (quills or shells or any shape you like) shopping list
- 2oz butter (melted) shopping list
- 500g minced beef shopping list
- 2 onions (chopped finely) shopping list
- 3 cloves of garlic (I prefer chopped rather than pressed!) shopping list
- 100g mushrooms (sliced) shopping list
- 1 tin of chopped tomatos shopping list
- 1 tablespoon of oregano shopping list
- 1 teaspoon of salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon of pepper shopping list
- 2 tablespoons of tomato puree shopping list
- 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons of maple syrup shopping list
- 1 tablespoon of Mrs Balls chutney (or any nice runny chutney) shopping list
- 400g white sauce shopping list
- 100g grated cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 180 degress C. 350 F.
- Cook pasta and then toss it in the melted butter and line the bottom of you oven proof dish.
- Fry onions and garlic in a thick based saucepan, until browned.
- Add in the beef and fry until browned. Add in the mushrooms and fry for a further 5 minutes.
- Add in chopped tomatos, oregano, salt, pepper, tomato puree, vinegar, maple syrup and chutney and cook for a further 10 minutes.
- Put the meat mixture on top of the pasta.
- Pour the white sauce evenly on top and then sprinkle the grated cheese.
- Bake in oven for 40 minutes until the cheese is browned. Enjoy!!!
