Banana bread french toast with carmel sauce

- banana Bread: shopping list
- 2 1/2 cup flour (all purpose) shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 3 1/2 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 3 tbls. salad oil shopping list
- 3/4 cup whole milk shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 4 bananas shopping list
- 1 cup finely chopped nuts (optional) shopping list
- For the french toast batter: shopping list
- Use 8 eggs and 1/3 cup of milk-for 1 loaf of banana bread. shopping list
- For the carmel sauce: shopping list
- 1/2 cup melted buttter shopping list
- 1/2 cup whipped cream shopping list
- 1 cup packed brown sugar shopping list
How to make it
- For the banana bread:
- Heat oven to 350.
- Grease and flour 9x5x3 loaf pan.
- Measure all ingredients into large mixer bowl; beat on medium speed 1/2 minute,
- scraping side and bottom of bowl.
- Pour into pan.
- Bake 55-65 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean.
- Remove from pan.
- Cool before slicing.
- Slice bread into 12-14 slices. Don't use the ends.
- The griddle works great for a big crowd.
- For the french toast dipping and cooking:
- Just dip like any other french toast. Griddle till done.
- For a big crowd, make them ahead of time; put them in the oven (325F) in foil.
- For the carmel sauce:
- Combine butter, cream, and sugar in saucepan.
- Bring to boil over medium heat, stir to mix well; reduce heat.
- Cook for 5 minutes, do not stir, set aside.
- Yields 1 1/4 cups
- Serve with fresh fruit, powdered sugar, or whipped cream of your choice; sprinkle with cinnamon...
