Strawberry Sponge With Mallow Filling Recipe

Ingredients
  • sponge:250g marg softened
  • 2 cups castor sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 21/2 cups self raising flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • teaspoon strawberry ess
  • pink colouring
  • mallow filling:11/2 cups mallow,chopped
  • 3/4 syrup
  • 250ml fresh cream,whipped
  • p.s. mallow=marshmallow

Directions
  1. sponge:cream butter and sugar
  2. add eggs one at a time
  3. add flour
  4. add milk to make into batter
  5. add ess and colouring
  6. bake for 25 min at 180 degrees
  7. mallw filling:put mallows in a saucepan on low heat
  8. add syrup
  9. when mallows are melted remove
  10. let it cool but not set
  11. add cream
  12. cut cake in half
  13. spread filling
  14. put top half
  15. ice with strawberry flavoured icing

Wasalaam mumtaz,not golden syrup,made with 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar.
