Ingredients
  • 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp margarine or butter, melted
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup milk whole, skimmed or 2%

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400F, 180C, Gas Mark 5
  2. Grease 10 custard cups or muffin tin (do not use cupcake papers)
  3. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl using electric mixrer
  4. Pour batter into cups or tin, filling them 1/2 full
  5. Bake for 35 minutes or until popovers are frim and golden
  6. You may add 4 oz. shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled crisp bacon to the batter for a breakfast popover,

I grew up with these delicious, airy, crusty gems - if you've never made popovers, TRY THIS...they are so good (I like mine with butter and jam, but we also used cinnamon sugar, maple or blueberry syrup, butter and powdered sugar, any jam, etc). Thanks for bringing back my childhood memories, tippy!
